Anand Kumar, retd Justice C N Ramachandran Nair named first and third accused in half-priced scooter scam case

MALAPPURAM: Retired Justice C N Ramachandran Nair has been arraigned in the half-priced scooter scam. In the case registered in Perinthalmanna, he has been named the third accused. Sai Gramam Global director Ananda Kumar is the first accused in the case. Second accused is Ananthu Krishnan. The case was registered on the complaint of Danimon of Valamboor. It is reported that a fraud of Rs 20 crore has happened in Malappuram alone.

Evidence collection is progressing in Kochi at the offices and house of Ananthu Krishnan in custody. Ananthu had earlier given a statement that he had given Rs 2 crore to Ananda Kumar from the money collected through the half-priced scam. Ananthu had also said this in front of the media during collection of evidence. Although it was clarified that Ananthu had also given money to politicians, it has not yet been revealed to whom.

Meantime, the investigation team said that it was clear from examining Ananthu's bank accounts that money was given to Ananda Kumar. Ananthu Krishnan had formed shell companies and associations for financial fraud. The main one is a limited liability partnership company called Social Bee, which was headquartered at Giri Nagar in Kochi. The documents show Rs 1 lakh as the working capital of the company.

The police had yesterday recovered two diaries containing details of Ananthu Krishnan's money transactions. These were found during evidence collection at his office in Paipra, Muvattupuzha. It is reported that these contain details of those involved in the fraud. Ananthu had revealed the names of people who had given him money during interrogation. His bank accounts are being searched.
